James Bryant of the Blood Stones Gang has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy, which was accepted in Westchester County Court last week.

Bryant was arrested and charged as part of a larger gang sweep in the Nodine Hill section of Yonkers in the beginning of May, which led to the arrests of several members of the Blood Stones Gang, who were charged on a multi-count indictment. Nine of the 12 gang members have already pleaded guilty to conspiracy and other charges.

As the leader of the Blood Stones Gang, Bryant was tasked with recruiting other members into his “set.” He admitted to holding gang meetings, required members to pay dues and gave out orders to commit violence. He also handed out punishment to other members of the gang if they failed to follow orders.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino Jr., noted that Bryant pleaded guilty to conspiring with other Blood Stones members to assert control over the Nodine Hill area of Yonkers by means of violence. Those means included shootings, assault and conspiring to kill rivals.

Bryant is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 5 next year, when he will face between five and 10 years in state prison.
